IRS to Start Processing Tax Returns With Education Credit, Depreciation
For those of you are eager to get your tax returns filed so that you can get your tax refund as soon as possible, the recent delay in processing caused by the issues in Washington may have been an inconvenience or frustration. The good news is that the IRS has announced that most taxpayers should be able to begin filing their tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service this week (the week beginning February 10, 2013) when the Service will start processing returns with the depreciation and education credit forms, IRS announces in a news release (IR-2013-18).The IRS says it will start processing tax returns that contain Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization, Feb. 10, and it will begin processing Form 8863, Education Credits, Feb. 14.
The IRS says that these forms affect the largest groups of taxpayers who were unable to file on the Jan. 30 opening of the 2013 tax season.
